Protean Digital Services Ltd is a Zambian company, a member of the Protean global network of tech, design, and business experts. We build, deliver, and support online Community Management Systems (CMS) for Public Benefit Organizations (PBOs) – including Government, Regulators and Associations.

Our mission is to Empower, Engage and Elevate PBO Communities in Zambia through our innovative, ready to deploy, ‘Protean CMS’ or, if commissioned, by developing ‘Custom CMS’ solutions specific to the needs of our clients.

Protean systems allow our client PBOs to manage and deliver unparalleled digital services to their Communities, all within their exclusive, all in one, digital ecosystem.

Our systems incorporate advanced security features and are designed for delivery on all device sizes, requiring only a ‘normal’ internet connection. Our Community Management Teams are also on hand to help administer and manage CMSs deployed for our clients, whilst our Partnership Team helps build your network of Content Experts and Partners!

Ready to Deploy Protean CMS

Our Protean CMS is a comprehensive and highly flexible platform, designed for PBOs to deliver a wide range of digital services to their Communities. It is a Ready to Deploy solution, allowing our clients to rapidly develop an online presence and deliver digital services at competitive rates. Protean CMS Projects follow a three-stage process:

Discovery: A one-week process, during which our client’s needs-aspirations-processes are clearly defined, and CMS Project works determined. This Stage results in a detailed, costed, ‘CMS Project Plan’, with clear deliverables, timelines, and early technical diagrams.
Development: Customisations and interfacing of the Protean CMS is completed, reviewed, and approved by client as per agreed timeline. This Stage results in a fully functional Protean CMS, as agreed in the CMS Project Plan.
Deployment: Protean deploys the CMS on its servers, working closely with appointed client personnel to facilitate CMS administration training. The CMS is then officially launched to the public at the client’s discretion.

Yes! In fact, that’s the only way we do it – each of our client organisations get their own, branded, customised and hosted CMS.

Our objective is to create an exclusive digital ecosystem accessible only by the Community you allow.

Important: Licenses relating to a deployed CMS are taken out in the name of your organisation. This means that, once deployed and paid, the CMS is yours to do with as you wish and you may choose to no longer use Protean services.

Absolutely!

Protean CMS’s deployed in Zambia are interfaced with local payment gateways, supporting both card and mobile money payments. Of course, this means that you need to open a ‘Merchant Account’ with one or more of our interfaced payment gateways.

Protean offers full hosting, server management and content delivery services. Protean CMSs are normally hosted at CloudLayer8, a Tier III Data Center in the European Union with multiple security certifications. We also work closely with Vimeo, a global content delivery network on which we can store and stream your video and audio content.

Correct administration and community management is essential to the successful application of any CMS solution!

At Protean, we strongly believe that such activities must be a collaborative effort between our Community Management Teams and your organisation. This means that our Community Management Team is available, if commissioned, to do all the administrative and back-end work necessary to make your CMS a success, acting as an extension of your team and on your instructions.

Of course, we also offer full training to your team when we deploy a CMS, allowing your organisation to effectively administer your CMS in-house.
